Notices of Motion tabled at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 24 February 2015 which was held at City Hall in Little Malop Street, Geelong.
The Victorian Coastal Council has invited submissions to help shape the future of Victoria’s coast and contribute to three new Regional Coastal Plans. The three Regional Coastal Boards have developed these draft Regional Coastal Plans, building on the Victorian Coastal Strategy as well as stakeholder and community input from a scoping phase in March 2014. Consultation activities will be undertaken in the coming weeks. The Regional Coastal Boards have stated they will consider submissions, as they will help shape the final Plan.
Council performs the role of Coastal Land Manager within parts of the Central Coastal Board’s area of responsibility. Therefore, Council should make a submission based on the Central Coastal Board’s draft Regional Coastal Plan. Submissions are due in on 31 March 2015.
Cr Richards moved, Cr Ellis seconded -
That Council officers prepare a Council submission to the Central Coastal Board’s draft Regional Coastal Plan, and that it be endorsed by Council at the second Council meeting in March 2015.
