In accordance with section 89(4A) of the Local Government Act (Vic) 1986, this meeting was called by public notice on Saturday, 30 June 2018. The meeting was called at short notice by Mayor Harwood after an invitation was received on 26 June 2018 at 11.08pm from AirAsia inviting the Mayor to attend to speak at the official launch of services to Victoria (Avalon Airport) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 10 July 2018.
Given the date and timing of the receipt of the invitation and the launch event, as much notice as practicable was provided for the meeting.
