The Chief Executive Officer declared the meeting open at 7:00pm.
Council acknowledged Wadawurrung Traditional Owners of this land and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who are part of the Greater Geelong community today.

That Councillor Nelson be nominated as Temporary Chairperson until the appointment of a Mayor.
Carried.
Councillor Nelson invited nominations for the Office of Mayor.
Councillor Aitken moved, Councillor Kontelj seconded –
That Councillor Stephanie Asher be nominated to be Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong.
Carried.
Councillor Asher was declared elected as Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong.
Councillor Asher assumed the Chair.
The Mayor invited nominations for the Office of Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Nelson moved, Councillor Sullivan seconded –
That Councillor Kylie Grzybek be nominated to be Deputy Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong.
Carried.
Councillor Grzybek was declared elected as Deputy Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong.
The newly elected Mayor, Councillor Asher and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Grzybek briefly addressed the meeting.
As there was no further business the meeting closed at 7:15pm on Tuesday 15 October 2019.
