The purpose of this Council Meeting is to consider the following agenda items:
Annual Financial Report for the Year Ended 30 June 2021; and
Draft Long-term Financial Plan.
This meeting has been scheduled in order to meet annual statutory local government reporting requirements and timelines, as detailed in the report for Item 1.
Council acknowledges Wadawurrung Traditional Owners of this land and pays its respects to all Elders past and present and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who are part of the Greater Geelong community today.
Councillors Kontelj would like to acknowledge our residents who find themselves in other states at the moment, unable to cross the border to return home due to COVID restrictions.
We all know how difficult the pandemic has been in so many ways and of course this is only heightened when separated from our loved ones at home.
Councillor Murrihy noted Councillors have been heartened by the announcement from the state government that home-based quarantine trials will begin for returning Victorians.
We have written to the Premier encouraging the government to work as quickly as it can to finalise a solution to bring people home as soon as possible.
We wish our residents and their families a speedy and safe return.

That Leave of Absence be granted to Councillor Asher for the period 14 September to 21 September 2021 inclusive.
