Maximum booking time is one hour. All bookings are subject to availability.


Temporary conditions of hire during COVID-19

User groups will be responsible for the behavior of their users and participants.

All users and participants must:

  • follow hygiene practices, by thoroughly washing or sanitising hands before and after using facilities and equipment
  • after use, wipe down and clean any equipment or furniture surfaces, with provided cleaning equipment
  • maintain 1.5 metres distance from one another, (this does not apply during exercise where contact is allowed)
  • not enter the venue if they are unwell or showing any symptoms, however mild
  • come prepared - this includes appropriate clothing, footwear and equipment
  • bring their own towel and drink bottle (no glass)
  • adhere to any capacity requirements and time restriction for use of facilities; bookings are required
  • maintain four square metre rule within booked spaces
  • arrive a maximum of 10 minutes prior to your session
  • not attend the centre if they have returned or been in contact with anyone who has returned from overseas in the last 14 days
  • not attend the centre if they have been in contact with any known or suspected cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  • supply their own equipment, sanitised prior to use - the venue will provide sanitation station on site if required
  • restrict movements around the venue staying within the exclusive booked area
  • acknowledge any school students requiring temperature check were tested at school on the day of booking and recorded below 37.5 as per directions
  • treat staff and other users with respect – aggressive or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

In addition, school groups must:

  • be signed into the venue on arrival and departure by the supervising teacher, acknowledging the school is responsible for recording register of attendees for contact tracing and may provide to relevant authorities upon request
  • advise the venue as soon as possible if anyone from the school is confirmed as having COVID-19 in days post attending the venue.
Please note: there are no limits on students for groups using outdoor facilities, teachers/supervisors are limited to maximum necessary staff required to conduct activity.

Conditions of hire

  1. We (the City of Greater Geelong) reserve the right not to accept the hire application.
  2. We may cancel the hiring of the venue at any time up to 21 days prior to the hiring of the venue if in its reasonable opinion the facility is required for the staging of competitions or for events or programs involving elite athletes or commercial interests during the hirer period.
  3. Subletting of the facility is not permitted.
  4. The hirer shall conform to and obey all reasonable directions our authorised staff have given in regard to the use of the facility.
  5. The following rules apply at the facility:
  6. Any hirer and/or other persons not complying with or enforcing the provisions of these Conditions of Hire or the Venues Conditions of Entry may be removed from the facility by an authorised member of our staff or Police Officer.
  7. We take no responsibility for the property of any hirer whilst at the facility nor do we accept any responsibility of the property of any person the hirer allows into the facility and without limiting the scope of the following indemnity clause, the indemnity from the Hirer to our organisation shall include such damage to property.
  8. Any motor vehicle driven or parked in the confines of the facility is entirely at the owners risk and we accept no responsibility for any theft or damage thereto and without limiting the scope of the following indemnity clause, the indemnity from the Hirer to our organisation shall include such theft or damage.
  9. The hirer is to notify us of any damage that occurs during the hire period. The hirer shall be responsible for all damage caused to the facility during the period of hire and will be required to pay the costs of all repairs.
  10. Applications for hiring of our properties will not be considered where any rental or charge remains unpaid from a previous hiring or the conditions of occupancy have not been adhered to.
  11. 14 calendar days notice shall be given to the centre manager in case of cancellation or the hirer will forfeit 25 percent of their hire fee. Any cancellations occurring within 48 hours of the intended booking will forfeit 75 percent of the hire fee.
  12. By  agreeing to these terms and conditions or hiring the venue, you confirm that you will not use the venue as a place to spread hate, use speech to incite violence or hatred, or to threaten community cohesion, health and public safety, and if such action is, in the City's view, a likely outcome of your hire of the venue, the City may in its sole and absolute discretion cancel the booking.

Liability insurance

The Hirer agrees during the term of this Agreement, to be the holder of a current Public Liability Policy of insurance in respect of the activities specified above in the name of the Hirer providing coverage for at least $20 million.

The Public Liability Policy shall cover such risks and be subject only to such conditions and exclusions as we have approved and shall extend to cover our organisation in respect to claims for personal injury or property damage arising out of the negligence of the Hirer.


Indemnity

The Hirer agrees to indemnify and to keep indemnified, and to hold harmless the City of Greater Geelong, our servants and agent, and each of them from and against all actions, costs, charges, expenses, penalties, demands and damages whatsoever which may be brought or made or claimed against them, or any of them, arising out of or in relation to this agreement.
