Enquire about booking your event at a nature reserve

You must have public liability insurance of at least $20 million per claim for the duration of the event.

If you do not have this type of public liability insurance, you can pay an additional non-refundable $25 to be added to the City’s Community Liability Policy (Part A), provided you meet the eligibility criteria (see Annexure C).The $25 charge will be added to the hire cost and shown on your invoice.

Please note there is an excess of $500 applicable to any claim.

CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES
If you wish to cancel or amend your booking, please email [email protected].
Council reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances, including situations where conditions may cause damage to the reserve—for example, heavy rainfall prior to your event.
To minimise disruption, we recommend arranging an alternative location that can be used at short notice.
EVENT BOOKINGS
Your entire function, including set up and pack up must take place within the allocated hours of your booking.
The event organiser is responsible for the behaviour of all patrons and for ensuring that the event complies with all Terms and Conditions.
FEES
There are no fees payable for bookings at conservation reserves. The booking solely reserves the designated event space and does not grant exclusive use of the entire reserve.

ACCESS/PARKING
This booking does not reserve you or your guest exclusive parking at the reserve, and it does not exclude you or your guests from signed parking conditions.
At no time are you or your guest permitted to block access to the reserve.
The entry of vehicles onto the reserve is strictly prohibited.
CONFETTI
The use of bubbles is the only permitted celebratory material within our reserves. The use of rose petals, dried flowers, confetti, rice or glitter during your ceremony is strictly prohibited, and you will be required to reimburse Council for any costs incurred in the clean-up of these materials.
EVENT TIMING
Events may only be held between 10:00am and 6:00pm. These hours are designed to minimise disruption to nearby residents and wildlife, and to align with daylight hours for safety.

RECEPTIONS
Receptions and self–catered functions are not permitted under the conditions of your booking.
MUSIC
Acoustic instruments or small portable speakers are permitted for use within the reserve.
Reasonable volume levels must be always maintained, and other users of the reserve must not be disturbed.
Power is not available.
PERMITTED EQUIPMENT
Seating: 10 broad based chairs.
Table/two chairs: for signing wedding documents.
Council is not responsible for arranging the transportation or set up of any items.
NOT PERMITTED EQUIPMENT
We do not permit or allow arches, arbours, marquees, barricades, tents or other structures to be erected or placed in the reserve.
We do not allow props, decorations or fixtures to be attached to trees or pegged into the ground.
CLEANING/LITTER
All litter generated by your booking is to be removed from the reserve at the conclusion of your booking.
ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
The Applicant must not engage any third party to supply alcohol in connection with their Event at the Location, regardless of whether the third party holds a valid liquor licence. This restriction includes, but is not limited to, external caterers. 
PUBLIC ACCESS
The Council Reserve is a public facility. General public access must be always maintained, and specific areas must not be cordoned off.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Organisers must have a plan for managing emergencies, including access to first aid and contact details for emergency services.
ACCESSIBILITY
Some conservation areas may have uneven terrain.  Organisers are encouraged to consider accessibility needs, including clear pathways, signage, and seating arrangements prior to the event.
CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
To ensure the safety of all attendees and the protection of wildlife and the natural environment, please observe the following:
- Do not touch, enter or swim in water bodies.
- Be aware of insects and take precautions.
- Watch for blue-green algae signage.
- Respect other users of the reserve.
- Do not climb trees or structures.
- Do not damage or remove vegetation.
- Do not pick flowers to vegetation.
- Be cautious of falling branches, especially in windy conditions.
- Do not disturb wildlife including feed animals.
- Entering sensitive habitat areas is prohibited.
- Patrons must remain on established paths and open lawn areas.
