Established in 1985, the Geelong West Community Garden is a welcoming space for anyone who wants to grow fresh produce, learn from others, or simply enjoy gardening in a peaceful, communal environment.
The garden provides an opportunity for people without space at home - or those who simply enjoy gardening in the company of others - to cultivate vegetables in wicking beds, share skills, exchange seeds and produce, and build meaningful connections. The friendships and camaraderie that have grown here over the years continue to strengthen and enrich our community.
We now have 48 member plots along with a wide range of shared facilities, including three equipment sheds, fruit trees, communal herb gardens, an outdoor kitchen, a pizza oven, and a sheltered area used for workshops, meetings and social gatherings. The garden is also home to beautiful mosaic sculptures created by local artist Helen Millar in collaboration with community members.
As a valued community asset, the garden regularly hosts school groups and local organisations, helping to share knowledge, inspire learning and foster connection across our neighbourhood.

There is an annual membership fee, and members are required to maintain their plots plus commit to a minimum 10 hours annual active support for the garden in working bees etc to assist in maintaining the facilities. |
