Grrrl Power

Sing-a-long with iconic girl-band bangers in this high energy show, celebrating the queens, pioneers and rebel girls of the music industry. Taking you on a journey over four continents, expect stories of mischief, rebellion and heartbreak of leading femme fatales from Japan, Australia, Cuba, the UK, to the United States.

Over eight decades, girl bands have harmonized, danced and fought their way into collective consciousness. Using pop music as their weapon, girl bands paired Riot GRRRL energy with songwriting genius, (and some marketing prowess), to put feminism and female empowerment into the mainstream.

In this incredible live show, music-theatre star Fem Belling (Cruel Intentions), the exquisite Indian classical/Bollywood vocalist Parvyn Singh (The Bombay Royale), R’n’B powerhouse Francois D’Argent, and internationally acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Chelsea Wilson unite to present an epic journey of grrrl band successes and tragedies.

Featuring the music of The Andrew Sisters, The Weather Girls, The Supremes, Bananarama, Destiny’s Child and Spice Girls. Plus hear some of the greatest girls' bands time forgot – Japan’s Pink Lady, The Barry Sisters, Prince’s sexy protege’s Vanity 6 and many more.

Bring your mum, your girlfriends, your lovers and the kids for a time travelling romp through pop music. Get ready to dance, laugh, sing and roar GRRRL power!
