About the Bellarine Arts Centre

The Bellarine Arts Centre provides a vibrant arts complex that serves as a multi-purpose arts and cultural centre for joint use by Bellarine Secondary College, St Ignatius College and the regional community.

The Bellarine Arts Centre is an ideal venue for classes - dance, drama, yoga, performances, multi-arts festivals, art exhibitions, outdoor events, band rehearsals, meetings and conferences.

The venue offers a range of spaces both indoor and out - to suit a multitude of needs.

Our history

The Bellarine Arts Centre was built as a joint venture between the City of Greater Geelong, Bellarine Secondary College, and the Roman Catholic Trusts Corporation (on behalf of the Catholic Regional College, now St Ignatius College Geelong), with additional funding provided by the State Government through the Community Support Fund. Council established a Committee of Management under Section 86 of the Local Government Act, and a Development and Joint Use Agreement was signed. The venue officially opened on 15 March 2001.

The Bellarine Arts Centre provides an extremely valuable resource for the Bellarine community. Its multipurpose design means the Centre plays a significant role in the cultural, social, and educational development of the community.

The venue’s reputation as a partnership model between Council, the community, and two secondary schools is widely admired. It is a vibrant hub of activity for people of all ages and is considered a highly valued community cultural asset. Consultation has confirmed the excellent qualities of the Bellarine Arts Centre as an accessible venue for people of all abilities.
