Winter Solstice – One Act Plays

For over eighteen years, Theatre 3Triple2 has presented two original one act plays on the shortest day of the year.  This unique event provides an opportunity for new works from local writers to be showcased and celebrate the Winter Solstice.

Audiences are treated to two original plays and can also enjoy warm open fires, warming mulled wine to purchase along with free pre-show and interval live music.
2026 we have on Friday night Nothing But Treble with tight harmonies, engaging storytelling, and a genuine connection that reflects the group’s shared experience and love of music.
Saturday will see Finely Weathered Friends a delightful vocal trio known for their rich three-part harmonies, accompanied by guitar and ukulele.

Come along, feel welcomed and warmed, and be the first to experience these new works.  The two Plays are :

Unravel - Written by Jade Kemp
"Unravel" follows 43-year-old Eve as she navigates a profound period of grief and self-discovery sparked by a clinical assessment for her daughter, Gemma. While completing behavioural questionnaires, Eve is struck by a series of "me too" realisations, finding that the social and sensory challenges described in the forms mirror her own lifelong experience.

Acquisition - Written by Jack Price
From one of Theatre3triple2 favourite playwrights, Jack Price (Kikatinalong, The Three Pears, Oldie Locks), "Acquisition" is a sharp comedy about an Aussie family facing compulsory land acquisition in an outback town. As generations clash, buried secrets surface and home is redefined, the family fights bureaucracy, memory and each other, echoing the spirit of "The Castle."

More than enough to keep you warm this Winter!
