Question Time is an opportunity for questions to be addressed to Council and while the minutes record the general content, they do not purport to be a transcript of what was said by individuals. Likewise Councillor or Officer verbal responses are in summary form only. Views expressed may not be the views of Council.
Council's practice is to provide a separate document on its website setting out questions and responses including any more detailed written responses which may be provided subsequent to the meeting.
Colin Wallace asked:
Would Councillors note that in 2011 my wife and I asked Peter Bettess directly for copies of the half-yearly summaries mentioned in Section 7 f) of the Ropeworks Planning Permit, he was asked again indirectly through our FOI request and appeal to the CEO, and again directly through our legal representative, that through none of these requests were we were given any half-yearly summaries and that, in response to my wife Mary asking at the last Council Meeting, 29th January 2013, if Council had produced the half-yearly summaries mentioned in Section 7 f) of the Ropeworks Planning Permit, Mr Bettess said, eventually, “I don’t know.”?
The Mayor noted the comment.
Yesterday my wife and I received in our letterbox an Express Post envelope within which was a sealed, un-postmarked envelope containing a letter to us from Cr Michelle Heagney dated 8th February 2013 with no document number shown and my question is, did Cr Heagney compose this letter?
Cr Heagney responded, “Yes, I did”.
Mary Wallace asked:
Would Councillors note that, at the last Council Meeting, to my question ending in ... has Council produced these half-yearly summaries, Mr Bettess’s final response, “I don’t know” was omitted from the Minutes?
The Mayor noted the comment.
Through the Mayor, to Peter Bettess: in 2011, when my husband and I asked for the half-yearly summaries referred to in Section 7 f) of the Ropeworks Planning Permit, had Council produced these half-yearly summaries?
Peter Bettess responded, “No”.
Cr Harwood presented a petition from Oberon High School in relation to road safety on the Torquay Road between Kidman Avenue and Oberon Drive.
