Likewise Councillor or Officer verbal responses are in summary form only. Views expressed may not be the views of Council.
Council's practice is to provide a separate document on its website setting out questions and responses including any more detailed written responses which may be provided subsequent to the meeting.
Colin Wallace asked:
In his written responses to my questions concerning the Ropeworks Planning Permit at recent Council Meetings, Peter Bettess has referred to the permit holder/owner as Fabcot Pty Ltd and would the Mayor and Councillors note that Fabcot Pty Ltd is Woolworths’ own in-house Retail Property Development division?
The Mayor noted the comment.
In relation to the $100,000 mentioned in Condition 7f of the Ropeworks Planning Permit, would the Mayor and Councillors note that Condition 7f states that Council will provide to the permit holder/owner, on a half-yearly basis, summaries of investigations/works undertaken and associated costs and that there are no qualifications to this clear and definite statement, which means in turn that Council was to have provided half-yearly summaries to Woolworths regardless of whether or not Woolworths wanted them, regardless of whether or not Woolworths required them, regardless of whether or not Woolworths was satisfied with how the money was being spent or satisfied with not receiving the summaries, and regardless of whether or not Council was supposedly accounting for the expenditure in some other way?
The Mayor noted the comment.
Since it has been established that Council has not provided any half-yearly summaries to the permit holder/owner from mid-2009 when the first one would have been due, was there a prior understanding between Council and Woolworths that Council would not provide Woolworths with the half-yearly summaries?
Peter Bettess responded, “not to my knowledge”.
Mary Wallace asked according to Condition 7f of the Ropeworks Planning Permit, Council should have provided half-yearly summaries to the owner/permit holder, however Council did not provide half-yearly summaries to the owner/permit holder, but, if Council had provided these half-yearly summaries, would a submitter to the Ropeworks Panel be entitled to have access to them?
Peter Bettess responded, “yes”.
Nil.
