Notice of Motion tabled at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 20 October 2015 which was held at the Council Conference and Reception Centre in City Hall, Little Malop Street, Geelong.
Council appointed Mr Kelvin Spiller to the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer, on a short term contract, while the permanent recruitment process takes place.
The short term contract expires on 23 October 2015.
McArthur has been engaged to manage the recruitment process for the appointment of a permanent CEO. It is expected this process will be finalised in early November.
In the event that an external person is appointed as CEO it is likely that a notice period is required and commencement will not be until early 2016.
The Interim CEO Contract has an early termination notice period of two weeks.
Cr Richards moved, Cr Nelson seconded -
That Council extends the Contract of Kelvin Spiller in the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer until 8 January 2016, or until the position has been filled permanently and a new Chief Executive Officer commences.
Carried.
