Artist Floor Talk: Tal Fitzpatrick

Join artist and researcher Tal Fitzpatrick for an insightful floor talk exploring her socially engaged textile practice.

Based on the unceded lands of the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh language region, Fitzpatrick is widely recognised for her work in Craftivism—a field that merges craft and activism. She holds a PhD in Visual Art from the Victorian College of the Arts and brings a deeply considered, research-driven approach to her practice. As a socially engaged artist working primarily with textile Tal's projects use the gentle and familiar textures of cloth to tackle challenging sociopolitical issues including gender-based violence, human rights, the climate crisis and feminine rage.

This floor talk offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artist about her practice, process, and the power of textiles as a tool for activism and change.

The talk is included with Museum Entry ($13 adults, $10 concession, Museum Members and Teachers are free).
