Our outdoor synthetic pitch is a multi-use, FIFA standard synthetic
pitch available all year round to sports clubs, community groups and casual hire.
LED floodlighting to over 200 LUX is provided with our pitch. This type of facility is at a professional standard that can’t be found in many other locations in Victoria.
Although the pitch’s primary use will be football (soccer), it is also adaptable to any sport that may fit on the space. Sports such as AFL 9s, touch football, ultimate frisbee are expected to be played.
The pitch can be used in several different configurations including Full Pitch, Half Pitch and Small Sided Football. The pitch will also be accompanied by player and official shelters, removable goals, and storage compounds.
In recent years many regular turf surfaces have been impacted by the effects of increased participation, overuse, climate change and also many facilities in demand for multi-use purposes.
The synthetic pitch facilities surface has been designed to simulate the look and playability of a regular sporting field and safe to use for most sports traditionally played on grass.

- City of Greater Geelong based sports clubs.
- Non-City of Greater Geelong based sports clubs
- Sports leagues

- Private providers/commercial organisations
- Casual Hire (business team activities, kids birthday parties, etc).

- Pre-season training
Has your club thought about hiring the synthetic field for your pre-season training?
The pitch could be a solution to the difficulty of finding suitable/available grounds during pre-season periods.
- Events/exhibitions/carnivals/season, program or product launch
The pitch is an ideal option to host one off events, programs or competitions - this could include interschool AFL 9s/soccer tournaments, come and try days, registration days or junior clubs presentation days.
- Alternative sports/activities
The pitch is great for alternative sports such as Touch Football, AFL 9s, Frisbee and Gaelic Football - its also a great space for personal training groups or fitness testing.

Expressions of interest - bookings and hire
Expressions of interest for bookings are currently open and are confirmed back to interested parties on a monthly basis.
The venue is encouraging clubs to submit expressions of interest preferences
for days, times, and pitch sizes (full or half pitch). Then once the expression
of interest period closes, booking confirmations for the preceding month will
be sent to all clubs.

the monthly bookings have been confirmed the facility will become available to
casual users wishing to make occasional bookings in periods not already booked.
Pitch specifications
Surface
Sport Pro Max S 50 millimetres synthetic turf boasts unrivalled
performance and resilience.
The unique, double S-shaped yarn (350 microns
thick) creates an extremely natural looking and performing surface, with high
elastic memory enabling optimal ball-roll, rebound and traction.
Infill
116 tonnes of recycled SBR rubber infill have been has been
installed to provide a safe, low maintenance, high INFILL PRO SBR.
Specially sized recycled
rubber installed in a patented process to provide a safe, low maintenance, high
performance playing surface (not shown).
Shock pad
10 millimetres pre-fabricated shock pad.
Drainage system
Deep layer aggregates
provide a more efficient evacuation of rainwater from the surface than regular
sports turf.
Other specifications
- size: 102.5 metres by 65 metres = 6,663 square metres with three metre run-off from sidelines and touchline. 7,704 square metres total surface area.
- fencing is black powder coated 6 metre high fencing with PVC coated chain wire mesh fence surrounds the pitch
- lighting has been built using a Musco Light Structure System. The four pole system provides 200lux lighting
- pitch certified to FIFA Quality Pro standard
- capacity to be used during all weather conditions including its use for intensive training sessions during the week, whilst providing a high-performance facility for weekend competition
- both permanent and portable goals complete with nets
- in-ground sleeves fitted for corner flags; and half pitch play
- custom built players shelters to seat 8 players.
