Amendment C339 Part 1 – Flood overlays and zones (Lara Flood Study) – Abandoned

Current Status

Completed

Date: Tuesday, 28 March 2023

Implements the Lara Flood Study by revising flood overlay and zone maps.

At its meeting on Tuesday 28 March 2023 Council considered a report on this amendment and passed the following resolution:

"That Council, having further considered submissions to Amendment C339ggee Flood Zones and Overlays, resolves to abandon the part of the Amendment which relates to the Lara Flood Study properties and refer remaining submissions to an independent Panel. "

Abandoning this part of the Amendment now means no new flood overlays will be applied in the Lara Flood Study area including the Special Building Overlay.

The existing Land Subject to Inundation Overlay and Floodway Overlays will remain across the Lara Flood Study catchment from the You Yangs to the Bay. No changes will be made to existing zoning in Lara as result of the amendment being abandoned.

The Amendment has been split into Part 1 and Part 2.

This webpage has information on Part1 which is the abandoned Part relating to the  Lara Flood Study.

See the webpage "Amendment C339ggg Part 2 - Lower Barwon and Moorabool Rivers and Bellarine Peninsula Coastal Hazard" for information on the balance of the amendment (Part 2) which is being referred to a Panel.

The media release under "Supporting Documents" has more background and states the reasons for the Council decision (as required by section 28(2) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987).
