Council Meeting to Adopt
Council meeting date: Tuesday, 28 July 2026
Amendment will include the Greater Geelong Heritage Design Guidelines 2025 as a new incorporated document in the Planning Scheme and delete the 1997 Guidelines.
Council
has prepared Amendment C484ggee to the planning scheme and it is currently on
public exhibition. Submissions can be made online using the form below.
The
amendment proposes to replace the current Heritage and Design Guidelines
(City of Greater Geelong, 1997) with the new and updated Greater Geelong
Heritage Design Guidelines (City of Greater Geelong, November 2025) and
make consequential changes to planning policy to align with the new Guidelines.
The
decision to prepare and exhibit the Amendment was made by Council at its
meeting on 25 November, 2025.

Council adopted the Heritage Design Guidelines 2025 and resolved to prepare and exhibit Amendment C484ggee to implement the Heritage Design Guidelines 2025 into the Greater Geelong Planning Scheme.
