Amendment will include the Greater Geelong Heritage Design Guidelines 2026 as a new incorporated document in the Planning Scheme and delete the 1997 Guidelines.
The
amendment proposes to replace the current Heritage and Design Guidelines
(City of Greater Geelong, 1997) with the new and updated Greater Geelong
Heritage Design Guidelines (City of Greater Geelong, July 2026) and
make consequential changes to planning policy to align with the new Guidelines.

Council Meeting - 25 November 2025
Council adopted the Heritage Design Guidelines 2025 and resolved to prepare and exhibit Amendment C484ggee to implement the Heritage Design Guidelines 2025 into the Greater Geelong Planning Scheme.
