Learning at the National Wool Museum

The National Wool Museum is a place where curiosity is sparked and senses are engaged.

The National Wool Museum offers creative early learning sessions, engaging educational tours and hands-on workshops for students of all ages. The program brings to life Geelong's rich history and the wool and textile industries through immersive, student-centred experiences. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, the program fosters critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning, and intercultural understanding. Our programs are also focused on learning about Aboriginal histories, cultures and perspectives as well as sustainability.

Program Highlights:

  • Wadawurrung Culture: Learn about the area’s traditional owners and their rich history and culture.
  • Geelong: Discover the region’s industrial legacy focusing on human enterprise and innovation through exhibits and artefacts.
  • Design & Technology: Explore Geelong's status as a UNESCO City of Design and discover historical and contemporary designers and inventors.
  • Hands-On Workshops: Get creative with wool, fibre, and textiles in interactive, art-based activities.
