Garden Organics

Best option for disposal:

Branches can be placed into your garden organics green lid bin.

Each branch should be no larger than 10cm x 30cm.


Otherwise:

Excess green waste can be dropped off for a fee at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre or Green Care Mulching.



Best option for disposal:

Flowers can be placed into your garden organics green lid bin.


Otherwise:

Excess green waste can be dropped off for a fee at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre or Green Care Mulching.



Best option for disposal:

Garden prunings can be placed into your garden organics green lid bin.


Otherwise:

Excess green waste can be dropped off for a fee at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre or Green Care Mulching.



Best option for disposal:

Grass clippings can be placed into your garden organics green lid bin.


Otherwise:

Leaves can be placed into your garden organics green lid bin.


Otherwise:

Best option for disposal:

Place in your green lid garden organics bin.

Garden waste undergoes a pasteurisation process, where it is heated to high temperatures which ensure the seeds can not germinate.


Otherwise:

Noxious and declared weeds can also be placed in the rubbish bin, but put them in a plastic bag and tie the top, to ensure they are not spread further once they get to landfill.

Best option for disposal:

From plants and trees in your garden: Place in your green lid garden organics bin.

From other sources: Sawdust produced from MDF, chipboard or other treated timber should be bagged up and put in your rubbish bin.



Best option for disposal:

Small logs can be placed into your green lid garden organics bin, (10cm X 30cm maximum).


Otherwise:

Excess green waste can be dropped off for a fee at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre or Green Care Mulching.



Best option for disposal:

If the timber has been grown in your garden and you know for sure it has had no chemical treatments it can be placed in small pieces in your green lid garden organics bin.

Do not place large or heavy pieces in your bin, otherwise it may not be emptied. 


Otherwise:

Any timber that has been treated should be placed in your red lid garbage bin in small pieces. Do not place large or heavy pieces in your bin, otherwise it may not be emptied. Alternatively, treated wood can be dropped off for a fee at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre

Any timber purchased for building purposes may have been treated with some sort of chemical, even if it says it is 'natural' or 'untreated'. Help us keep or green waste facility healthy by leaving any timber of this type out of your green bin. 



Best option for disposal:

Small pieces and quantities of treated pine can be placed into your red lid rubbish bin. 


Otherwise:

Dispose of larger pieces and quantities at Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre

Residents may be eligible to have their bulky household items picked up from their property as part of their rates payment. For more details on booking and what items can be included visit the hard waste page.
