Rezones land at 60-62 Morgan Street and part 43 The Boulevard Norlane from Public Park and Recreation Zone to Special Use Zone 18, concurrent with the granting of a Planning Permit for the redevelopment of the Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative North Geelong Hub.

The amendment affects land at 60-62 Morgan Street Norlane and part of 43 The Boulevard Norlane and proposes to rezone the land to facilitate the redevelopment of the Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative Limited North Geelong Community Hub.

The amendment does this by:

  • Rezoning land at 60-62 Morgan Street, Norlane, and part of 43 The Boulevard, Norlane from the Public Park and Recreation Zone (PPRZ) to Schedule 18 to Clause 37.01(Special Use Zone)
  • Applying the Environmental Audit Overlay to all the land being rezoned

The amendment is accompanied by a planning permit for the development of a new multi-storey Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative North Geelong hub building and associated parking and access on 60-62 Morgan Street, Norlane, part of 43 The Boulevard, Norlane and part of 21 Birdwood Avenue, Norlane.

The decision to prepare and exhibit the amendment and draft planning permit was made by Council at its meeting on 25 June 2024.
